Steam Supply or Water Supply for Wood Pellet Processing Plant
For many clients with wood pellet plant, the question of whether or not it demands a steam supply or a water supply still remains.
Forage for husbandry requires sterilization and curing, otherwise livestock such as cows, sheep, pigs and chicken may potentially face indigestion and diseases, which can stunt meat production and cost farmers a lot of money. Because of the specific requirements for sterilization, a steam supply is commonly used for a feed pellet plant rather than a wood pellet plant.
While wood pellets processing plant can use a steam supply or a water supply, if the production of pellets exceed 1 ton per hour, a steam supply can help produce a higher yield of up to 30 or 40 percent while minimizing damages done to machines. To aim for that 30 to 40 percent higher yield, the steam supply pressure should hover around 0.5Mpa. Most clients are looking to avoid higher upfront costs, so they often opt out of the steam supply option. Water supply systems do have their benefits as well. To offer the most effective water supply for wood pellet plant, the water pressure value must remain between 0.3Mpa and 0.5Mpa. (Related Article: 3 t/h Sawdust Pellet Machine Line in Malaysia)
When it comes to installing a water-supply system, you want to make sure you have the most efficient and effective system in place. To ensure this, the water-spray system should be installed over the conditioner of a wood pellet mill. This is to prevent the feedstock from over drying in cases of poor control over the manual drying process. At the same time, there is some evidence that suggests that the water-spray solution isn’t the most efficient and can be short-lived. Sometimes, the paddles of the screw shaft in a conditioner will not function properly. In these cases, water won’t be mixed with the feedstock sufficiently, and this can become a large cost.
